8.) What sort of Music is your favourite within a movie?

From the questionnaire listed above most people we found out that they preferred action/adventure movies than any other genre, it was a very popular choice among people questioned, this suggests that the action/adventure genre was popular it was also popular between the genders of 18 yr olds to 20yr Olds most, this makes sense as mostly teens or young adults are interested in watching this sub genre of movie. the least popular overall was the romance and comedy films, this is probably because it only appeals to a certain target audience and not a wide variety of target audiences like action/adventure does.

Planning: Consideration of representation in our film and stereotyping

Although we do not plan on having any stereotypes or representations of an gender and race, we do plan on using a cliché young teenager's way of behaving, the main reason we decided to do this was because many of our viewers may be able to relate to what we put into the film, for example in another post I mentioned that we would be including a birds eye shot of the character's face looking upwards and his mother yelling up into his room from downstairs in the morning, which many people may relate to, so it would increase the popularity but mainly so that we can ensure the audience are able to understand the situation that the main character is in.

Also, since our film is fairly unique, we have decided that we would consider our antagonist to be very unique, making it much more memorable. Our film is also very odd since we have the antagonist and the protagonist fighting, which we got inspiration from the film Scream, which also has quite a few stereotypical representations of teenagers for example that they party 24/7 and unaware of their surroundings, also very vulnerable, which are good targets for villains.

Planning: relevant online tutorial 2

This tutorial is another great one, since we are planning on creator a horror film but because it will be quite quirky, we are planning on having the protagonist fighting the antagonist, who although is a ghostly figure like the Slender man, the fight will be quite random but we will try and include all of the things that are in this tutorial, for example kicking, as we have people in our tutorial that do martial arts the fighting should be fairly easy, it will just be difficult to get the good camera work which is explained in this tutorial for example using a whip technique which is basically a fast panning of the camera, also another technique which is taught in this tutorial is that if someone is kicked they jump back in the air and fall of the floor, however the clip should be fairly fast since fighting is usually fast and tense. However this tutorial was also memorable since there was a lot of comedy in it, for example they had two people, one of them was visiting who was a stuntman, helping out teaching kicks, although his character was played out to be a cocky martial artist, it makes it more memorable, and overall the tutorial is great since it shows us what camera angles to use and some basic kicks to use for effectiveness in creating a good martial arts film.

Planning: Relevant online tutorial 1

For this online tutorial it goes into great depths about what to do to completely change an atmosphere, with a lot of comedy on the way, either because the you tuber is a funny person, or they want the viewers to be able to remember it better. The way the tutorial was made was very clever since not only did it describe to us how to make a great horror movie, it also shows a few shots, also a subtle change in filter for the film, for example taking a bright happy place with birds and a basketball court, changing the filter to a dark grey would completely change the atmosphere along with some creepy music. They also change the sound of the narration of the tutorial, making the creepy feel. Although what is described is a cliché horror film, it is very good at showing us what to do, for example we learnt from this tutorial that we would need a main actor of some sort, along with an antagonist or at least shadows to make it feel like there is a villain or spectre lurking around. In this tutorial it suggests that the best time to film would be at night, since the majority of us fear what is in the dark, exploiting their fears through the use of filming at night would make it feel creepier. We are also taught that we should have a side character, a cliché character who doesn't want to be in the place that the characters are in. Also, for dialogue, we are shown that we can include in our trailer that if there is more than one character, some dialogue should include the characters talking, for example the main character has lost or forgotten something and needs to go back somewhere, where another character doesn't want to be. After that there should then be a few quick low angle shots showing a symbol or something evil along with a lightning flash to emphasize the danger that the characters are putting themselves into. If this film is a ghostly film, then it is best to use some sound effects, which we thought would be hard to find unless there are some non copyrighted ones, either that or we would have to make our own, which may be less quality but still something to use. Then have some random objects move, whilst the camera captures the antagonist standing in a corner but still capturing the protagonists looking at the main object. Then suddenly the main protagonist is left on his own, which we thought is a good idea because then the audience are able to feel the protagonists' fear. Another brilliant thing about this tutorial is that it actually is a great horror film, for example there is a match on action shot of a character opening a door, which then suddenly bangs open. Overall this is a great tutorial and has taught me quite a few things.

Planning: Own film treatment

For the beginning of our film we plan on having quite a fast paced tense feeling, for example we will have the main character limping away from the antagonist, then suddenly it cuts back into the main character looking up into the camera, with a narration introduced, however we were also thinking that we should have someone yell up at him, since our protagonist is a teenager but a keen martial artist, we will have someone e.g. like a mother yelling up into the protagonists' room from downstairs or outside the room, the character then closes his eyes and the camera fades whilst some happy music is introduced, completely changing the scenery from the first clip, where the main character is walking down a road either with his friends, whilst a dolly shot from the front is capturing them, however whilst his friends are talking and being all cheery, the main protagonist has a look of sadness on his face as if he knows something is about to happen, looking down onto the ground, the narration is carrying on, and the sounds of his friends talking are echoing so it is hard to fully make out what they are saying, for example it'll sound like children playing in a park, where it is hard to make out.

About halfway into our trailer we are then planning on having a few quick cuts back into the antagonist chasing the protagonist, whilst the clip of the main character looking at the ground with his eyes, then the camera cuts to a low angle extreme close up of his face, showing a tear slipping out of his eye, then the camera scene falls apart in a transition, then fully cuts into the protagonist being chased by the antagonist, then the protagonist is hiding somewhere, collapses, the music then changes, when the antagonist is standing infront of the protagonist whilst he closes his eyes, he starts attacking the antagonist who is carrying a weapon of some sort.

after the fight finishes, ending in the protagonist lying down on the floor with a knife in his stomach, the antagonist staring down at him, captured from a low angle shot, there is then another birds eye view shot of the main character looking up, but crying since he is about to die, also gurgling out blood from his mouth. We were either planning on having the main character looking up peacefully dying whilst the antagonist either walks away slowly or just stands above him, or we were planning on having the main character crawling away from the antagonist who then slowly walks behind him and finally kills him.

Then for our ending we were planning on having a few panning shots, along with some flashback memories of the protagonist, where we do a few panning shots of some fields with wind, showing a blissful ending.

Planning: Own Film Idea Brainstorm

First of all, we start the trailer cutting straight into a low angle shot at close up distance capturing the main character Zeno holding his arm, injured and in pain, with heavy panting, capturing the sounds of his foot steppes and sweat on his face,  as well as a panicked expression on his face, constantly looking around as if being hunter, shot lasts for several seconds, cuts to an over the shoulder shot from the front, showing half of Zeno's face, wide eyed suddenly halts, if possible the camera first focuses on Zeno's ace and then towards the background, where the antagonist is seen just slightly, the camera then changes to a fade to black, eerie music is then introduced.

For the next clip, a narration is introduced, explaining Zeno's story, whilst several shots pan around the area, showing the scenery, suddenly the narration cuts when a shot captures the antagonist staring into the distance who is captured by a panning shot capturing the environment, then the antagonist looks towards the camera suddenly, as soon as this point is reached the music narration and camera halts. leaving an eerie feel, when the camera cuts, just after the antagonist looks at the camera a second after the transition to black, a millisecond long jump scare of a extreme close up shot showing the antagonists face, in this case the horse mask, suddenly changing the mood of the horror film.

The camera then cuts into a high angle birds eye shot of the main character looking up towards the camera in his bedroom, lying down as if just woken up, with an eerie light, this is mainly due to the fact that we want the audience to be able to understand the story behind the protagonist. Also, we decided that we would have some creepy music, although we thought that it would be difficult for us to initially create a song, we went all over you tube to find a non copyrighted song, and we came across a channel which was offering it's songs to the public, as long as we credited them at the end of the trailer, they gave us permission to use this, also we decided not to use any free songs since many other people would be most likely using it.

Audience Research

We first decided that we would have an age rating of 15, since we are including fake blood into our film, although many of the younger generation have been exposed to much more violence such as video games. we are planning on including fairly graphic scene were someone is stabbed and blood is pouring out of their neck, which in itself would make it an 18, but we still decided that a 15 is best, although bordering it, it won't be nearly as graphic as we want it to be. Also, we are not including any nudity or sexual scenes, so that is the main reason why we thought that age rating was best. Also, we believe that the irony of the horse mask on the intimidating character would make it funny, so if it was an 18 people may question the age rating a bit more.

Also, we believe that the main gender to watch our trailer would be teenagers, since it isn't a full on comedy or horror film, it does include a fair amount of action, for example some fighting and a stabbing , which many young teenagers would want to see since those things are enjoyable at that age, they would want to see more action than for example a middle aged woman or man who may just sigh at the mess that they are watching. Also, although many horror movies can be dull and copy each other, ours will try to be fairly unique and quirky, so that it would have a specific audience to watch it, and we believe this to be a younger generation, also we believe that in our case the gender doesn't matter as much, so we thought that both genders at this age would enjoy or at least find some parts funny about it, as well as it would confuse the audience since one moment there is creepy music and the next moment a ghostly paranormal horse is fighting a hippie.

Location Research

For our location research we decided that we would set ourselves in the woods for the first few clips to our movie and towards the ending, this is mainly because it adds to the creepy eerie feel that we want to produce to show the audience. However although this may be fairly overly used in horror movies such as Cabin In The Woods, we also want to clarify that we have not taken any ideas from the movie, but have instead had inspiration from mythical creatures such as Slenderman. A game had been made about him which is played in the woods with a few building, which we are lucky to have, so we are
able to include a small building as well as woods
into our trailer, both having a creepy effect.

Along with the theme of the woods we are planning to use the inside of a scout hut, although it won't look nearly as good as the picture shown to the left, we will try our best to choose a good time so that the lighting is as eerie as it can be, although there will only be a few short scenes set in the scout hut, we plan on mainly using the woods as the setting, and plan to use them as an establishing shot.

Since there are a few fields nearby to where we are filming at the Oxshott scout hut, we thought that we could do a few panning shots around the field whilst the character is talking about his story, this is to show the audience the setting, and hopefully depending on the weather we are able to get a good shot, for example if it is raining we can enhance the sound of the rain, or if it is sunny we can end the panning shot/ shots with it facing towards the sun, bringing some flares. A field is a good setting for a horror movie since it is so vast and plain, where there could be anything.

Our final setting idea was that we would use someone's bedroom as a idea for the protagonist's house, where we were planning on doing a shot of the protagonists face, peaceful and tranquil, whilst a narration is introduced and creepy music starts taking over, however we were also planning on either starting off with a close angle birds eye shot of the protagonist looking up from his bed, then suddenly the camera cuts and we cut back into the chase scene, this setting would be good because the lighting could easily be  manipulated.

Costume Research

First of all we decided that we would have a bit of a comedic feel to our trailer, mainly because we want it to be unconventional, we want it to be scary but for the audience to laugh at as well, something unique that would stay in their mind when they watch it. For this we decided that we would have our antagonist wear a horse mask and a trench coat, although it would be funny, it would be creepy as well, since people generally wouldn't be expecting it, they would be expecting the antagonist to be wearing a scary clown mask or something a long those lines.

We then thought that along with the horse mask the antagonist should wear a trench coat, to make it seem more mysterious, and it would also be a fairly darkish colour, so that the horse mask sticks out more in the audience's mind, we also thought that if we were to dress our antagonist in normal civilian clothing then it wouldnt be as memorable.

We were then thinking of  mixing some boots along with the trench coat and the horse mask for the antagonist, this is mainly to make him look taller and more intimidating than the protagonist, who will be wearing trainers along with some other clothing that I will get into later. Also, boots would make the antagonist seem like he conforms the role of a detective of some sort, so it would confuse the audience, although they wouldn't be spending so much time looking at the boots but looking at the mask instead.

In the first few clips our antagonist will be wearing a torn shirt, although it is annoying since we have to destroy a shirt in the name of film, we thought this would be a worth sacrifice. This is mainly due to the fact that we want to make the audience realise that he had been in some sort of conflict with the antagonist, who is following the protagonist, but not walking...

Then we decided that the protagonist should wear a basic pair of old jeans, which we will cover in some sort of liquid which looks like blood, as well as the shirt. We thought jeans would be best fitted for our protagonist since we want him to be a normal human who is being hunted by our antagonist, kind of like a cliché teen horror movie.

Soundtrack Research

For our soundtrack we decided that a slow, creepy and eerie music should set the main theme for the trailer, this is mainly due to the fact that we are going to do a horror movie. We found a non copyrighted song which we thought would fit directly for our trailer, although we would have to figure out how to take out sections of the song and put them into different parts of the trailer, since the song is fairly long lasting about 2:30 minutes. Since we don't want our trailer to be too long, we decided to cut down the song a bit into different pieces, so that we can then take those parts and put them into the clips and sequences which were best suited for that part. However with this song that we had found, we had to ask the creator for his/her permission, which they then accepted and said it was fine that we could use it for our trailer, although it isn't the absolute best, it is a pretty good song that can set the mood, with a few jump scares which we thought would fit perfectly with out trailer at certain points, since we wanted to have a certain part where the antagonist of the horror movie is behind the protagonist, and a sudden burst of loud music would make it twice as good.

However we did look for some more songs, but we couldn't find many good uncopyrighted songs, since the majority of the channels on YouTube only had made mix tapes out of several various songs, and we would therefore have to pay for the licencing for that song, even then that would make us vulnerable as they could have scammed us, so it was best that we found this song and were given permission to use it. The reason we didn't choose any upbeat music or didn't use media fire was because the quality isn't too good, also the majority of the songs would have been used by other students, resulting in a less popular trailer since they would have already heard the song, also it would make it more boring for the people watching it.

Since we were going for the horror theme, we initially decided that a fast sudden music should be put in straight away, however we had some disagreements with each other and decided to discuss what the best way around deciding the song was, since I had already written out the beginning part of our trailer, what i thought was suited more was a slow theme, to build up the tension and maybe suddenly stop or to build it up to a jump scare, so that people know that it is coming, but they don't know when, so it is sudden, much like many classical horror movies for example Insidious.

I then showed my friend the song and we both read the ideas and thought that the slow build up theme was the best, although it may be overused in many films, it never gets old.

G321 Genre Research

Generally, crime films include a group of villains, and a protagonist or a police force of some sort. Also there are a lot of fight scenes and drug busts. Occasionally, there is a corrupt police force and one protagonist who fights off the corrupt police force and 'saves the day'. Most of the villains in crime films consist of ex military, drug addicts, chavs, foreign and criminals or gangsters. The plot is usually that the criminals or drug addicts meet up with a rich foreign man with tough bodyguards, something goes wrong and they end up fighting. However there is a protagonist, such as a detective or some sort of ex-military man who takes care of the situation and resolves the story.

In crime/gangster films, The story usually goes through the life of a main villain or protagonist, and usually includes the rise and fall of a gangster or mobster and to highlight their life throughout the story. and how they struggle with law and passing through conflict with the law. Also, most of the gangster/crime films are generally placed in a rural setting, such as a city or a busy town, so that it shows how close crime is to the real life situation. however some other crime films may continue in foreign countries. A good example of this is Taken, which goes through the story of a girl who travels to France and is kidnapped by a group of sex traffickers, which again is very stereotypical because the villains are foreign.

With Action films, they generally contain a main protagonist along with other less important protagonists. Also, there are a lot of explosions and weapons being used along with an occasional close quarter fight with the main protagonist with the villain. The story generally is set in a foreign country and the villain is very powerful and rich, who usually owns a company of some sort which becomes corrupt.

Regression trailer analysis - drama

Synopsis: A detective (Ethan Hawke) and a psychoanalyst (David Thewlis) uncover evidence of a satanic cult while investigating the rape of a traumatized teen (Emma Watson).

The establishing shot used for this trailer was a close angle shot of someone holding a mp4 player or a walkie talkie, also, the setting is very dull, which influences the feeling that there is something bad about to happen, which is the further enforced by the movie title, meaning that someone is returning to a emotional/ physical level which is lower than what they have now, which suggests to the audience that the movie is going to be dark and maybe disturbing, completely filling out the essence of drama. There is some non diegetic music introduced as soon as the trailer starts, however in this trailer it is very quiet and has a deep bass to it, as if there as a sudden shock, which would make the audience feel at unease. After the slow music is introduced there is a narration from a character, this could either be perceived as being heard from the mp4 player or  a whole narration for only the audience to see themselves. The camera then cuts to a quick image of a house, whilst maintaining the creepy aura, the camera uses a steadicam shot to circle around the house slightly, whilst we are able to see someone walking into it. The camera then fades to black, suggesting a change of time, where we are able to see a character, presumably a detective of some sort looking through a room. The reason the audience might assume that the man in this shot is a detective is because he is wearing a trench coat, which not many civilians wear. However it also leaves an enigma as to why a detective is in that house, sparking all sorts of thoughts like why and if the house is abandoned and why he is looking there, could it be for a crime, all of these questions are left unanswered to us.

After that shot we are introduced to a close shot of a picture and a small mirror, the camera then zooms into the picture, which in turn is showing the audience who those people in the picture are, although we are not told directly, we are left to think what has happened to those people. whilst this shot is being used the narration tells us a date, which implies that there most likely was a crime committed, so the audience would feel like they would want to investigate further into it just like the characters, so the audience are able to sympathise with the character in wanting to find out more about the crime. Following this, there is an over the shoulder shot showing the audience a conversation between Emma Watson and the detective, which follows the usual style in which the shoulder is blurred out and the person being captured on the opposite side of the conversation is the main focus of the shot, this is the introductory shot of the character that Emma Watson plays, we are then shown the use of a shot reverse shot, so as the audience can have a deeper connection with the conversation and those two characters. The camera continually fades to black, so that the audience can understand when there is a change of time. After that sequence we are introduced to another character, where the camera uses a mid shot to capture his upper body, although we can see from the way his arms are crossed and the way he is dressed, a tie, jumper and a shirt along with glasses, the audience would be able to guess that he is a smart character, possibly a scientist or maybe even another detective of some sort. This shot sticks out more than the rest because of the use of lighting for this shot, as we are hardly able to make out his facial expressions or the details on the front of the body, but however we are able to see that the lights reflecting off of his back, so it makes that character seem mysterious, this shot also sticks out since the audience would want to find out who he is or what he looks like, putting more depth into the shot makes it have much more quality therefore being much more visually appealing.

After that, there is another visually appealing yet dark and somewhat unnerving shot of the camera slowly zooming into a metronome, ticking backwards and forwards, with extremely dull lighting used to emphasize the metronome, and therefore making the shot seem threatening, as if there was going to be something happening or that something would jump out from behind it, this shot sticks out just as much as the previous shot since the high definition used for it focuses the audience on that one prop. The camera then fades to white and cuts to the outside of the house, where the audience is introduced to the camera circling around the house using a steadicam shot, although the lighting is fairly dull we are still able to see the details on the ground from the moonlight such as leaves and grass as well as mud, but the use of placing the camera behind a tree branch makes it seem as if there was something watching the house. Suddenly the music starts changing to a more tense and deprived state, where it succumbs to more of a horror theme, which is in synchronisation with a low angle shot capturing an old woman looking down directly at the camera and putting her finger to her mouth, 'shh'. This shot is eerie since usually we would stereotypically see old people as innocent and kind, especially an old lady, so this completely subverts the stereotype of old people, instead making them seem creepy and threatening, also, the lighting is even darker in this shot, however it was cleverly used so that we would be able to see the facial expressions, but not much else, where the lights are focused mainly on her, The camera then cuts to black and we are introduced to a new setting, where we are shown a mass of people with hoods all staring at one spot, suddenly the trailer becomes much more fast paced and tense than it was in the beginning, as the story starts to unravel, again the lighting changes from extremely dull, hard to make out to a sudden flash where we are able to see the group. Along with this they are all wearing cloaks like cultists of some sort, which possibly could infer that there is some sort of satanic ritual of some sort going on, which would shock the audience since they would probably only have been expecting a robbery of a kind. Before we are able to fully take in the surrounding the camera starts rotating around so that we are able to see what everyone is looking at, as well as being shown the scenery, so that we can understand what is going on a bit more. After that there is a very interesting transition which one clip is cut into many different shots and fades to black several times in order to create a flashing effect, inducing panic or more fear into the audience rather than a simple fade to black once, the use of this transition was also very clever because it is in synchronisation with the music which had become extremely fast then suddenly cuts.

After the creepy sequence there is a two person shot showing Emma Watson and the detective standing at a door or a window, however, Emma Watson is given prevalence throughout this trailer since the purpose of this was to show her feelings and emotions and fear which is going through her mind, so the audience can sympathise for her and feel sorry for her, however the audience would also like the detective because he is shown to be a good character and is helping out the situation. Directly after this shot a sound of a clock starts ticking, signifyin that the trailer is going to finish soon, however we are introduced to some names just after halfway through in the hopes that some people would know that person and would be more likely to watch the film, and in short to gain popularity and more of a chance of gaining more money. Following that the clock takes over all sound, increasing the drama, whilst in conjunction with a extreme close up shot of the detectives' eyes, where we are able to see the fear and dismay, yet before we are able to fully analyse since the trailer speeds up and the shots become quicker and quicker we are introduced to a dolly shot showing Emma Watson's character running down a hallway with the use of a dolly shot, but the camera isn't fully steady towards the end. Then towards the end the non diegetic clock ticking slows down then suddenly cuts into the title screen, where the title starts closing in on the screen until it eventually fades away, leaving a dark sound and thunder, leaving us struck with awe from the short yet great trailer.

The Walk trailer Analysis - Drama

Synopsis: As a boy, Philippe Petit dreams of performing daring feats for dazzled crowds. As an adult (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), his life's ambition comes true when he becomes a high-wire artist who stares death in the face with every step. Under the guidance of mentor Papa Rudy, the French daredevil devises a plan to walk on a tightrope attached to the north and south towers of the World Trade Center. With help from his team and against all odds, Petit attempts the seemingly impossible stunt on Aug. 7, 1974.

First of all the film starts off with a very unique establishing shot, where the camera is at an extremely low angle shot, which gives the audience a feeling of vertigo and unease. Also, this shot is very intriguing because the shot adds a mysterious feel along with the other aspects which are introduced to the audience, The lighting is also exceedingly dull, which could infer a 'calm before the storm'. This establishing shot also introduces the feelings that the presumed character would be feeling, which mentioned earlier, vertigo. However, another important thing in this shot is that there is no non-diegetic sound. We are just introduced to a cold, eerie, sound of strong wind, which is usually only heard at high altitudes. Within the same shot, the camera tilts downwards to capture the roof of a skyscraper, showing the audience the main setting for  the film. The camera also maintains this shot, and doesn't change or cut at all. Further into this shot some diegetic sounds are introduced as well who we can presume is the main character. As the trailer progresses, we discover that the first shot used is a sequence shot, which adds a lot of drama and at the very end of the shot just before it cuts, we are given a sensational view of New York City. The next shot is a eye level shot of the main character, where we are able to see the main characters face in full detail, however there is no focus being used on the mans face or the background, whilst keeping it a middle shot. There is then some non diegetic music being introduced to make the scene more powerful and thrilling for the audience. Whilst the shots maintain the dull looking lighting, the camera changes to a high angle shot using a match on action style in order to show the main character walking onto a scaffold, however we are also shown what the character is wearing, he is wearing trainers along with jeans and a large jumper. The use of the location tells us that there is an aspect of city life, for example the main character may have been living in the city and urban areas, which could tell the audience about his character, for example he may be stereo typically busy, always in a rush, quite rude yet independent.

The pace of the trailer is fairly fast. which tells the audience that there is a lot going on, it also tells us that there will be a lot of tension throughout the film or throughout the scene, which further conforms the stereotype that because it is in a urban area, there is a lot of rush and panic, however it is also the whole theme of the rush and adrenaline which the character would be feeling, crossing two skyscrapers which is a phenomenal action to partake. Following the low angle shot showing the main character stepping onto a platform, there is a birds eye view which also takes some style from a point of view shot, showing the view from the skyscraper facing down towards the city streets. The camera then changes from another birds eye shot which quickly falls down using a pedestal style shot, which then tilts upwards showing the main character balancing from a beam hanging off the side of the building, which would make the audience feel tense in order to improve the feeling that the audience get from the movie, for example it makes them sympathize with the character a bit more in order for them to enjoy the movie more. Whilst the camera is tilting, the camera also starts zooming up into the character until eventually it reaches a mid shot where the camera then cuts to black, the use of this editing signifies to the audience that there is a change in time, which could also suggest that the introduction to the film was a time after what is about to happen, but the shot just used is interesting to analyse because it leaves certain enigmas for the audience, for example we wonder what happened, the sudden cut from where he is balancing on the beam could suggest to the audience that something bad has happened to the character, however we would also be thinking that nothing bad could have happened because that was the main character and rarely in most films do the main characters die straight away, so we are left with that enigma which makes us the audience assume that the worst has happened, also, the thoughts are reinforced by the sudden boom noise which was introduced as soon as the camera cut to black.

Following this there is two person shot which shows to the audience that there is a love story in the film, also, there is a heavy theme of what the main character is doing, for example, if the audience were wondering why the main character was balancing on top of a beam, it would have been answered in this clip, because the shot describes that he is doing his hobby, tightrope walking. As the character creates a contraption out of a doll and two wine bottles along with some wire, which implies to the audience that this is what he wanted to do across the skyscrapers. The setting also completely changes, where it goes from a eerie, secluded environment high up in the sky to a romantic, warm lights, also the characters are well dressed. It appears to be late in the evening, where they could be having a date. this love interest may attract more of a female audience since stereo typically a lot of females enjoy the romance, whilst the males enjoy more action and fighting, because they can most likely conform to those things. Some other props included in this shot are wine bottles, wine glasses, lamp post, stone walls, table, books and flowers. Along with the rain, this shot further influences the romantic feel thoroughly.

Skipping to about halfway through there is a sudden change in feel for the trailer, for example the music becomes more upbeat and precise, making the audience feel happier or in fact could make sway the audience more into wanting to watch the movie/ purchase it. Also, a narration is introduced from the main character, where he says, ''No matter where i was going or what i was doing, i was always searching, looking for the perfect place to hang my wire.'' Along with the upbeat music, this suggests to the audience that there is something about to happen, so it would increase the dramatic feel. whilst there is this narration going on, there are quite a few camera shots which are taken from the sky which usually zoom out and tilt, showing the environment, which could also enforce that there is a search for something, and makes us feel like we are helping the main character find somewhere. Following that sequence of shots there is a extreme close up shot of the main character pulling a wire across one prop to another, however the camera's main focus is on the wire, whilst the characters face is blurred out, which gives the audience a point of view that we are looking from his view, however the shot used is not a point of view. The camera then cuts to a low angle shot, which tilts from one side to another, showing the audience the view from the main character looking up at the two skyscrapers, which strengthens the location being set. Then it cuts to a high angle two person shot which is zooming into their faces, kind of like a shot reverse shot, as if we were just looking up, to then looking back down towards the two characters faces. They are also fairly well dressed, which could suggest to us that they are middle or higher class, the lighting is also a lot brighter, as if there had been a mission, for example at first, it was dull, dark, unexplored, which could infer the characters feelings, and further into it, it is bright and colorful. Then there is some more diegetic sound introduced, for example hands being shaken, glass clashing and a clock ticking. which works along with the camera shots, since further into it there is a low angle shot of the main character holding a clock, also telling the audience that he is responsible and mature. There is then a mid shot of the main character walking, supervising the construction on top of the roof, followed by a match on action shot of him stepping onto a nail which goes through his foot, which signifies the start of the doubt and failure of the story.

The trailer then finishes with a sequence of different shots, for example there is a high angle shot of everybody looking up at the main character walking onto the tight ropes, the trailer then cuts to the date of release and title, the title is fairly bland but has some lighting to it, this tells us that although there is the heavy influence of drama there is some entertainment to it, it may have some comedy to it but it is rarely applied to the movie and trailer, however it is not considered a drama, since although it does include the lover of the main character, it does not go into great detail and tends to focus on the main character's life and his way of living.

Creed official Trailer

Synopsis: Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) never knew his famous father, boxing champion Apollo Creed, who died before Adonis was born. However, boxing is in his blood, so he seeks out Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) and asks the retired champ to be his trainer. Rocky sees much of Apollo in Adonis, and agrees to mentor him, even as he battles an opponent deadlier than any in the ring. With Rocky's help, Adonis soon gets a title shot, but whether he has the true heart of a fighter remains to be seen.

The music first starts off quite eerie, with some diegetic sound of the man punching a wall and breathing, whilst also smacking both his fists together. The music then changes to more of a minor theme, meaning more sad, suggesting to the audience that there is a lot of sadness or despair. then there is an interaction between two characters, one presumably a coach and the other the main character. The coach then states, ''You not built for this, these boys come in here, they gotta fight for life!'' ''people die in the ring, your daddy died in the ring!'' the main character then replies to the coach, ''I don't know him, ain't got nothin to do with me.'' This short conversations makes the audience give a lot of sympathy towards the main character, this is because we just learn that his father died boxing, so it could mean that he has had a troubled life, also, considering that the setting is in quite an urban area, it could suggest that he is living in poverty. After that scene the music then changes into a more upbeat and happy theme, connoting to the audience that something positive is being done or that the main character is taking action, it could also signify that there is a change in theme. Suddenly the music stops for a second and then we are introduced to some diegetic sound of hand wraps being tied around his hand, then suddenly the music starts again. there is then a large narration, then some upbeat rap music introduced, adding to the theme of the song, then some dub step is introduced. then until the very end the music overtakes for the majority, the character then repeats rocky's motto. ''it doesn't matter how hard you can hit, but how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.''

The first shot used in this film trailer is a high angle shot which walks in towards the character, and whilst this is happening the camera tilts downwards, which gives a new perspective for the audience, as they are wondering where the sounds of punches are coming from, which is then revealed through this shot. the lighting is fairly bright, however the light is enhanced slightly so that is shines more on the character, showing off definition in the characters muscles, which emphasizes the role that he is a boxer. However the setting is in a fairly run down shabby room, where there is an old box and empty shelves. which connotates to the audience that the setting is in a fairly run down area. This shot is also somewhat long, and does not change angles, however the boxer does change from facing away from the camera to facing towards the wall, which is a fairly unique shot. The character has extremely serious facial expressions, and is fairly tense, which the audience can understand, and some members of the audience may have had a fight themselves, so they would be able to sympathise with that character and understand the situation that he is in. The camera then starts to follow the character as he walks out of the room, turning into a dolly shot, however the shot then fades to black, to build up tension, and then fades back slowly into colour, where the camera is using a dolly shot at a low angle to build up even more tension for the audience, The camera then tracks upwards. Following this there is a branding shot used, 'Metro Goldwyn Mayer' and 'Warner Bros' along with some others.

There is then a shot where the camera focuses on a broken chain fence, which then changes focus to a train driving past on a bridge, The camera then changes into an establishing shot styled shot, which displays to the audience the setting, so the audience can understand what kind of run down environment the main character is living in. using a long shot so as the majority of the neighbourhood is introduced. There is a word written on the bridge which is captured by the camera which says, ' Eagles ' .This could be a representation of some patriotism in the neighbourhood, connoting to the audience that although it is a fairly run down area, there is still a fair amount of sports going on, for example American Football. The next shot used is a close shot, however it also slightly pans to the right, to ensure that we do not lose track of the character walking through a door. we are then introduced to a new setting, which conforms the stereotype of poverty, where people are usually led into boxing, for example in Thailand many children are forced into Muay Thai in order to survive instead of begging on the streets, or simply to get money for their family, much like in America where they fight in order for their family to have money. The setting is in a boxing gym, where the audience see multiple boxers using punch bags, however there is one character standing just outside the ring, who isn't doing much, which could suggest to the audience that he is a coach of some sort, which then implies to the audience that he is going to have a big impact on the film and the main character. Following this, the main character is standing next to the coach, which the camera uses a two person shot to capture both of them, the camera also focuses on them through a some boxers sparring. Then a shot reverse shot is used to capture a conversation between the two characters, they both have serious facial expressions, which used in conjunction with The bright lighting, the audience can guess that something important is going to happen.

Following this some editing is used, where the camera fades to black and some information is added whilst the camera is faded to black, '' From the director of Fruitvale Station.'' which is a popular dramatic movie. So from that we can guess that there will be a heavy influence of sombreness and drama. There is then a sudden change of settings, which captures a city in a extreme long shot, which then zooms in very quickly, suddenly changing into A tracking shot which follows the main character from a diagonal angle, then changes into a low angle medium shot of trainers wrapped around electrical wires, which suggests that there is a theme of a gang going on, for example a gang or person marking their territory, however it could also be a marker for where people sell weed/ drugs. The lighting is very bright in this shot which is quite nice as it emphasizes the weather in the shot which would in turn would increase revenue for the shot since it is more visually appealing, and the shot is also in HD which further signifies the visuals. There is then a montage of the main character going through a workout, where mainly low angles are used, for example when the main character is doing underhand grip pull ups a low angle shot is used to capture him, but before the audience can fully capture the scenes, the camera changes, which adds a flurry on shots and a theme of rush, telling the audience that there is a lot going on. There is a iconic shot from a high angle where the camera captures the main character wrapping his hands in tape, which may make some audience members have deja vu, there is also a heavy influence from the film Rocky. Following this there is a mid shot of the main character running on a treadmill with an oxygen mask on, we are also shown in this shot several posters which are from fights from the past, which adds history into the film, making it much more interesting. Further on there is a two person over the should shot, which captures the main character and another character at eye level, which was used to symbolise a moment just before a fight, as the next shot is a complete change of scenery, where we are introduced to a boxing ring, however the first shot used does not capture the fighter;s faces, which leaves an enigma for a short time period, where the audience wonder who those two fighters are. but then we are introduced to a eye level shot of one character punching the main character, however the camera does not whip away, but captures the head turn. The trailer then ends with an iconic shot of rocky and the main character in a two person shot, which then cuts and finishes.

Concussion Official trailer.

Synopsis: Forensic pathologist Dr. Bennet Omalu (Will Smith) discovers chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a disease that causes brain trauma for football players.

The trailer first starts off with an eerie non diegetic music, giving off an aura that something is amiss or that something bad is about to happen. the good thing about using music before any establishing shot or before the trailer has even begun is because it sets the mood for the audience, so they can understand more about what the theme of the film or trailer is about. After several clips of the use of logo's and branding to show the audience who created the film, an establishing shot is introduced. This shot is interesting because it pans slowly around the football stadium. The use of this shot is to show the audience what the whole film is about, American Football. The lighting is fairly dull as well, suggesting to the audience that the film is fairly negative. Just before the clip fades to black, a narration is introduced which then overtakes the music, the voice sounds fairly worn out and disheartened which implies to the audience that something negative is happening. Following this there is a two shot of a man and a woman, however the narration changes from non diegetic to diegetic, where the camera shows the two shot at mid distance, and we are introduced to the man talking to the woman. There is then a library shot showing a patriot like march down a football field with an American flag being held by many people. which tells the audience that there is a lot of history involved into this film.

Following this there is a locked down shot, where the camera is maintained at a far shot, whilst all of the action continues, in this case, the footballers doing burpees, whilst we are also shown that the weather is fairly sunny, but a filter of some sort is introduced to make the trailer seem more eerie. The trailer also has a heavy use of fading to black transitions, which could signify that there is a lot of changing in time, also, the majority of the scenes are shot in the football field, which could either signify that this film is fairly low budget. However considering Will Smith is acting in this film as the main character, there would be a lot of disagreement that the film is low budget. The music still maintains the eerie and mysterious music that it had started doing since the beginning of the trailer, which keeps maintenance of the theme. The next shot used is interesting because it contains a deep focus on Will Smith's character, whilst also capturing the footballers in action. In this shot we are still shown the footballers but it is hard to make out who they are, but it is very clever because although the main character is far away, the audience are able to capture him out of the corner of their eye, even though they would be fixated upon the footballers, simply because of the deep focus. The clip also lasts a fairly long time so it would be hard to miss. There is then a panning shot which tilts upwards from a doctor's head to him holding a x-ray paper showing results of a neurological scan. This shot is interesting because it also has a deep focus on the x-ray paper, which hints to the audience, hey look at me! This shot is also great because it relates back to the title, Concussion. The setting is then changed from a football field to a hospital, where the lighting changes slightly, and becomes more dull. However in the next shot showing Will Smith at a eye level shot, with him looking upwards presumably towards the scan results, we are shown a look of despair, which tells the audience that something bad has happened. The music is a continuous loop of a piano being played, the music then suddenly stops when a woman says, '' who will.'' the music changes into a more dramatic theme. a bell chime is introduced. suddenly there is a loud sound which suddenly cuts, then towards the very end of the trailer it changes slightly to include a clock ticking and then suddenly cuts.

Following this there is a close up shot focusing on the main characters face, however there is also a dramatic change in lighting, for example the sun is shining through a window, which is emphasized in the next shot, which is an extreme close up shot, showing the sun glaring through the windows, which could be connotating to the audience that something good is about to happen. Whilst this is happening the music is suddenly building up tension, which draws the audience into the trailer more, because they would want to find out what is about to happen, and leaves an enigma for them, for example what will he do and why is he doing it? After this, there is another change in scenery, where we are shown through the use of a panning shot of the main character staring out into a window, contemplating. He is also wearing a tuxedo suit, suggesting to the audience that he is about to do something, or could also suggest that he is smart and well organised which tells us about the character. This is followed by an over the shoulder shot focusing on a woman's face, she says ''Who will?'' with a concerned look on her face, also doubt. We are also brought back to one of the settings from the beginning, where there was a two shot of the man and woman talking. Some other props which she is wearing includes spade shaped earrings. Straight after that shot there is another two person shot just like in the beginning, however this shots gives a more tense feeling, and their facial expressions have changed dramatically, which shows a sudden change of emotion. However the camera also slightly zooms in just to set focus on the characters' facial expression.

There is then a transition which tells the audience, ''Based on a true story.'' Which would shock the audience since it is something that is truthful (supposedly). There is then a dolly shot, however the main character is walking towards the camera whilst the camera backs away, this shot is also influence by A steadicam shot, which rotates around a corner smoothly. The setting is back in the hospital, and the character has a rough, determined facial expression, which is emphasized by the narration, ''I found a disease that no one has ever seen.'' His voice also sounds very disheartened, but prideful. We are then shown a extreme close up shot of the character looking into a microscope, suggesting to the audience that he is a scientist, adding to the audience's opinions of the main character, that he is smart, but also proactive. Then there is a low angle shot which also is a two shot, capturing the two characters interacting, where he explains to the other about head trauma. The camera then introduces us to a close up shot which quickly zooms into two people clashing heads, adding a comical feel to it.

At the very end of the film there is a over the shoulder shot showing the main character's facial expressions, which show anger and yet again despair, whilst he tells the other person, '' Tell the truth!.'' suggesting that something bad is happening. the lights are also very hard to make out, as the camera is focusing on the characters talking. the lighting also changes to a more dark theme, which follows along with the aspect. The film then cuts into the film's title, Concussion. which seems fairly low budget since it is a fairly simple Font, then fading into the date of its release December.
